The norteno, banda and Mun2 TV star, Jenni Rivera died in plane crash yesterday when her small plan crashed in the Mexican mountains. The mother of five was loved around the Spanish-language television circuts for her no-nonsense style. ABC was even in development of making a TV show ‘Jenni’ for her. However, that all ended with the plane crash that took in total 8 lives.

Rivera was not just a reality TV star that became famous overnight, she was “very down to earth” according to her friends and family. She was also into developing frangrances, cosmetics and clothing for everyone just like her. She even started the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation that helped single mothers and domestic violence victims. Worthy causes that will have to be taken over by family.

The life of the star was also into singing. In 1999, Rivera sold 15 million albums in close to all regional Mexican styles for her album, “Chacalosa”. The label, that belonged to her father, Jose Trinidad Marin, helped her get the career in the air. Mun2, the TV station in which Rivera worked on said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Rivera family and the families of her team.” The life of Rivera will be forever remembered in the Latino

communities and around the world. On Sunday, the Telemundo Station broadcasted a 2-hour special highlighting the many things Rivera has done in her life.

It is good to see that reality stars can make a difference in everyone’s lives instead of just milking every moment they can from the press and public. With the life that Rivera lived, maybe the reality stars of today can take a lesson from her and be more active in the world and help those who have helped them and show that they are more than just a crazy antic on television.

Rivera’s daughter, according to DailyNews said, “What you see on television is real, but she’s not one of those stars who forgets her family. She knows what it was like to struggle, so she’s always been there for us.”. Thoughts and prayers are with her family. R.I.P. Jenni Rivera.
