Is Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino’s Sobriety Real?

Submitted by on October 4, 2012 – 9:42 am Comments

It has been reported for months on how Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino has given up the alcohol for good. With the catchphrase, “We’ve got a Situation here”, it seemed that the Jersey Shore star would go on forever partying and drinking. With the Jersey Shore’s Final Season airing tomorrow, it is going to be weird not to see an alcoholic drink in the fist pumper’s hand.

After doing a stint in Rehab for being addicted to prescription pills, he looks back at his time as “most unbearable, unpleasant experience you could possibly go through but I am the cleanest and healthiest I have ever been since I was 21 or so.” It is no wonder why the star would want to be sober still. However, is it real? Now 30, The ‘Situation’ decided to give up alcohol because it is bad for him.

However, according to US Weekly, they report that the star is no longer sober! The added pressure of what he is going to do next now that the last season of the show that made him famous is ending got to him. Mike really doesn’t have the talents that some reality stars have to be able to continue the success. The reaction to him drinking again is mixed. Some feel that this is a way of him mourning over the cancellation of Jersey Shore.

Friends of the star have said to US Weekly that, “Mike’s freaking out about what he’s going to do after the show”. It must be hard on the reality-show star to know that no one really wants to give him work because of the attitude that he brings. It is sad that he couldn’t keep up with his commitment, but as Jersey Shore has taught us about Mike is that he doesn’t really commit to anything, including women.

Many feel that the cast is too old and it is going to drop the season’s ratings for sure. However, there is always the fact of many other things to happen on the Shore and the cast will surely entertain one last time. ‘GTL’ may be over, but at least there will be the memories..and Ron-Ron Juice! Jersey Shore airs tonight at 10:00 pm. EST on MTV.
