Gawker Fires Back At Hulk Hogan: Reputation Ruined Years Ago

Submitted by on November 3, 2012 – 7:45 am Comments

It would seem that Gawker and Hulk Hogan are not on good terms. That is because the former WWF wrestler is trying to get $100 Million from the website for posting the video. With claims that the website took away his reputation as a celebrity and calling it an invasion of privacy, the lawsuit is a bit silly for Gawker. They have since replied to the accusations.

Gawker replied calling the short 101 second video “roughly nine seconds of sexual activity in extremely grainy footage amidst otherwise uneventful conversation”. That, according to Gawker, doesn’t warrant the $100 Million that the wrestler is asking for. They are stating that they were well within the First Amendment right to put anything they want onto their website.

However, for the Hulkster, it is “no bueno” (that’s not good bro). He feels that the video being released destroyed his reputation that he has built up for himself. However, many are claiming, including Gawker, that the former champion’s reputation was ruined years ago when he mentioned that he was an adulterer back in 2009 in his own book. Therefore, Gawker filed for an immediate dismissal.

The meeting for an injunction is scheduled for November 8th and the website will be able to bring more information to be able to fight the charges being brought against them. However, there are fans that believe that Hulk Hogan is within his rights to try to get restitution from this. It is a form of invasion of privacy, but Gawker didn’t film it. Those are the facts folks.

To catch up on all things Celebrity, come scope out the site!

Hulk Hogan has already come out saying that the video made him sick to his stomach and the fact that Bubba Love Sponge orchestrated the entire thing makes you wonder why the Hulkster is going after Gawker at all. The fact that Heather Clem and Bubba Love are the true organizers makes everyone think that they should be punished for this. However, you do the deed, you have no say as to what happens to you after that.
