Former Professor Suing James Franco

Submitted by on September 6, 2012 – 1:00 pm Comments

One gets to hear a lot of unusual things about celebrities, but a celeb getting sued by a former professor isn’t, the most common of them. James Franco, who many tout as the next Brando, should have really known better than to piss-off, an already disgruntled man. The man in question here is a former professor of NYU. Former, because he was allegedly sacked for giving Franco a “D”, at least that is what the professor believes. He is in fact so sure this is the reason for his sacking that, he has filed a lawsuit against NYU.

As it turns out, Franco has received good grades in all his other subjects. The professor feels the others showed favoritism in giving Franco good grades. He basically had an issue with Franco’s lack of attendance. “I didn’t feel like I needed to waste my time with a bad teacher” this is the statement that got Franco sued. He had said this when questioned as to why he skipped 12 of the 14 classes, of this professor in question. Besides filing a lawsuit against Franco the professor retorted and got back his own at Franco when he told the Post “Whoever was in Clint Eastwood’s chair at the Republican National Convention was more present than Mr. Franco was in my classes”.

Well, in the professor’s defense, one must say he isn’t really wrong in sticking by his principles, and if he was really sacked only for displeasing Franco, then NYU really deserves to be sued. Not only that, NYU also deserves to lose in court and should then be forced to do right by this professor. But as they say, there are always two sides to a story, so there might be more to the whole thing than meets the eye.

As far as Franco is concerned, he should have simply not made the statement that he did and stayed out of the whole thing. Even if favoritism was shown to him, he had already benefited from it and the university had even gotten the man who displeased him sacked, if they really did that. So all he needed to do was leave to the whole thing alone, and not commented on anything to do with the issue.
