Evander Holyfield Retires From Boxing
Well boxing fans, the career of Evander Holyfield is officially over. Despite the reports of him returning for another fight, the boxing legend has decided to give up the boxing gloves for good. Holyfield made this clear according to TMZ that he wasn’t going to do anything that has to do with the sport anymore. For many, this is a sad day in boxing to lose such a legend, but as things go, there are always the memories.
Holyfield finished his last fight back in 2011 with the hopeful intentions of retuning to the ring for one more fight. However, he told reporters that his time is over. With 44 wins under the champion’s belt, he finishes the career the way he wanted to. Many remember the memorable fight he had with Mike Tyson when the champ lost half of his ear when Tyson lunged at him and bit it off. That day must have been a bit much for him to have to deal with.

Recently, Holyfield ran into debt accumulating over $500,000. Many felt that this was a time for him to make a comeback and get some money to pay off those hefty bulls. His career has been a rough one, but it seemed that the championship boxer would bounce back every time.
It is hard to see a legend leave the sport he clearly loves, but it is understandable. No one can forget the way he moved around the ring and how his determination had him win the fights he fought.
It is a shame that we won’t get to see him fight one last time, but with all that the boxer has gone through, Evander Holyfield deserves a break. Everyone will have to be left wanting with the rest. Hopefully this is not the last we hear from him. Maybe he will take up Golf like Michal Phelps did and knock out the competition. Only time will tell and for the 49-year-old great there is plenty to figure out his next move.
