Dakota Fanning Defends Kristen Stewart

Submitted by on November 6, 2012 – 11:00 am Comments

At a time when a huge amount of people hate Kristen Stewart for cheating on Robert Pattinson, there is someone who has actually stepped up in her defense. That person is none other than the 18-year-old Dakota Fanning, who shared a kiss with Stewart when they appeared together in ‘The Runaways’. Dakota basically feels that, no one has the authority to judge Kristen for what she has done.

She also feels that Kristen’s trial by media is hugely unfair, and feels that Kristen is being wrongly targeted by the media for her affair with married ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ director Rupert Sanders. Fanning was basically quoted as saying “Everyone thinks they have the right to, you know; publicize the struggles and sadness and heartbreak and all of that. It’s like, ‘Why do you think you are the authority to judge people’s experiences?’” Fanning then spoke about her own love life and was quoted as saying “I’m not the kind of girl or person who really wants boyfriends in my life. I’m very black and white in what I feel and I don’t wanna be with someone that I don’t foresee spending a long time with”.

Seems like she is pretty clear in her head about what she really wants from a relationship. For the uninitiated, Dakota Fanning rose to prominence after her breakthrough performance in the 2001 film I Am Sam. As a child actress, she appeared in high-profile films such as Man on Fire, War of the Worlds, and Charlotte’s Web. In 2006, Fanning began the transition to more adult roles with Hounddog and The Secret Life of Bees. Her recent films have included The Twilight Saga, the fantasy/horror animated children’s movie Coraline, and The Runaways.

In 2013 Fanning shall be seen in the movie Very Good Girls, which is a drama. The movie is about two New York City girls who form a pact to lose their virginity during their first summer out of high school. When they both fall for the same street artist, the friends find their connection tested for the first time. The again in 2013 she shall be seen in the movie Effie, which is again a drama. The story of the film looks at the mysterious relationship between Victorian art critic John Ruskin and his teenage bride Effie Gray.
