Cate Blanchett is no stranger to acting. With her work on “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” and her upcoming work in “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”, she has well established herself as someone who can pull off the cruel and impatient step mother. The film that is being made is going to be a live-action Cinderella film. It seems that Hollywood has taken a liking to creating movies with characters that are real. With the success that Snow White’s adaptation to live-action, it is only fair that they continue it.

The good news is that the film is being produced by Simon Kinberg (X-Men) and the film is sure to impress. This of course is not the first time the Cinderella story has been adapted and surely won’t be the last. With movies such as “Ever After” and the animated “Happily N’Ever After” under the belt, Angelica Houston and Elenor Aduley have filled the shoes as the evil step mother. So to be fair, it is going to be interesting to see how the actress is going to portray her.

The movie is to be directed by Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go) and no other parts have been casted as of yet. Fans of the hit name are wondering how they are going to make this new like they did with the work on “Snow White and the Huntsman”. The interesting tale of Cinderella has a special place in many hearts and they would do it a disservice if they rushed through it.

Some other movies, Earagon to name one, have been rushed through and basically put the book in higher standing. The great thing with Cinderella is that the story can be changed a little and it can still be interesting. Angelica Houston brought the cruel meaning to the word step mother and did an amazing job with “Ever After”. Let’s hope that the Hobbit star will be able to do a great job with the role as well.
