“Bachelor’s” Courtney Robertson Has To Return Ring

Well, it seems that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but they sure are not forever as Courtney Robertson, Ben Flajnik’s old fiancée, found out recently. As most of the world knows, and many guessed it would happen, Ben Flajnik and Corutney Robertson split from being engaged to one another from the ABC hit show ‘The Bachelor’.

The 3-carat cushion-cut Neil Lane diamond ring is the ring in question and she has to return it by the end of next week. It is never fun to have to depart from such a gem, but it all makes sense since the ring cost $85,000! The ring is still valued around $60,000-$80,000 and would mean that Courtney would be able to pay off quite a bit of debt.

The sad news that she couldn’t keep the stellar ring came a few days ago and Robertson is not fighting giving back the ring. It would make sense that given the track record of ‘The Bachelor’, the guys would give them a little decoder ring instead as a “promise to wed”. That way it will only cost them $10 tops. Breaking up is never a fun thing, but when the fame fizzles and you realize that the love was really lust, you need to re-evaluate a few things.

That is one issue that the show has and many feel that they need to reevaluate the show’s genre as well. Going back to the ring, Courtney has said to WetPaint that “More than anything, I want people to know there wasn’t some huge fight or one specific thing that led to it,” she said. “There’s really no story to tell other than the fact that it just wasn’t working out.” With what she showed on ‘Bachelor’, you would think that she would fight the returning of the ring a heck of a lot more.
