Amy Poehler And Will Arnett Part Ways

Submitted by on September 7, 2012 – 1:00 pm Comments

They say in a marriage if you can get past the seven-year-itch, then you are safe. Somehow this adage doesn’t seem to have applied as far as Amy and Will, are concerned. After nine long years of being together and being married, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler have parted ways. The couple wed back in 2003, and has two sons together, Archie, 3, and Abel, 2.

The two have also worked on several projects together including Blades of Glory, Monsters vs. Aliens and Horton Hears a Who!. In 2010, Arnett made a guest appearance on Poehler’s hit NBC comedy Parks and Recreation. Currently, as far as their careers are concerned, Amy is going strong with her hit comedy on NBC, while Will is also seen on NBC, starring in the show Up All Night.

As it turns out, this was Arnett’s second marriage. He was earlier married to Penelope Ann Miller, but the two divorced within a year of their marriage, in 1995. As far as Amy and Will are concerned, the separation was reportedly amicable, which in other words means that neither would hopefully give the other a tough time, during the divorce proceedings. For Pohler this was her first marriage unlike Will. Also, it would be interesting to see if the two collaborate on projects in the future, like they have in the past, or whether their ‘amicable’ separation also results in them parting ways professionally.

On the upside, Pohler has something to rejoice about, as she has been nominated for two Primetime Emmys: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, both for Parks and Recreation. Arnett too can take solace in the fact that, he too has been nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category for his role as Devon Banks on NBC’s 30 Rock. There is no denying the fact that the two made one talented couple, therefore it would be a pity if they stopped working together professionally, as a result of their failed marriage. Here’s hoping that the two keep appearing together onscreen, and keep tickling our funny bones; something which they have proven time and again, they are really good at.
