Amanda Bynes Pleads Not Guilty In Hit-And-Run Case

Submitted by on September 28, 2012 – 10:00 am Comments

Amanda Bynes who has apparently decided to make Lindsay Lohan her role model, recently plead not guilty to two counts of hit-and-run. She wasn’t present in court for the hearing, as she was busy with other important things like shopping, and as you might remember she is in NYC anyway. Amanda was allegedly involved in two hit-and-run cases; one took place in the month of April and the other in the month of August. She was in both the cases accused of banging into someone else’s car.

Luck shone upon her the first time round and she wasn’t prosecuted for the first hit-and-run. But, her luck turned, when she was accused of the second hit-and-run, mainly because the prosecutors decided to focus their attention on the previous too. If she is found guilty in both the cases, she might have to serve a jail-time of up to one year. The next hearing for the case is scheduled on the 19th of October. It is anybody’s guess if Amanda will show up in court for the hearing, or whether she has sworn off L.A completely, to point where she is ready to be declared a fugitive by the courts.

All jokes apart, it could also be possible that Amanda is so nonchalant about the whole thing, possibly because she is actually not guilty. Well, it would have been easier to believe in her innocence, if she wasn’t facing one count of DUI and two charges of driving with a suspended license, besides the hit-and-run case. It is possible that, the courts while deciding the hit-and-run case might take into consideration the other charges that are pending against her, mainly because the alleged crimes paint a picture of sorts.

In other words, it portrays her as someone who has very little regard for the law or the safety of others. In fact, if she is found guilty but let off lightly, she might not only repeat her offense but endanger the lives of people on the road. The good news is that she plans to settle in NY, where the traffic on the roads is so horrible that, she might probably quit driving altogether and resort to taking public transportation.
