Alexa Chung Says ‘I’m not starving myself’ To Weight Critics
The presenter Alexa Chung could take it no more and recently lashed out at those who have been critical of her weight. She insisted that she is naturally thin and that people are reading too much into things when they assume she is starving herself. “I think it really sucks. I think it’s about time people stopped judging women on their appearance and more on their intellect. You can appreciate my style without having to appreciate my weight. It’s not actually mutually inclusive,” she said commenting on the issue at hand.
What Alexa is saying might be true, but it’s also true that she off late she has been looking alarmingly frail, which might have led to many people commenting on her weight. Alexa has to understand that, in today’s world a person’s image is not just restricted to the person’s quality of work, but the person’s appearance too matters in a big way, especially if the person is a TV presenter and an actor, like Alexa is. On her part Alexa is frustrated with the whole issue and says “I just get frustrated because, just because I exist in this shape, doesn’t mean that I’m advocating it and being like, ‘I look great’. How do you know I’m not looking in the mirror and going, ‘I wish I could gain ten pounds’? Which is actually quite often the case.

She further adds “But if you say that, you sound like you’re bragging that you’re naturally thin, and you’re not allowed to do that because even though it’s not the ideal weight, it kind of is as well. So it’s really f**ked up.” She makes it absolutely clear that she isn’t starting herself by saying “It’s not like I’m starving myself, I’m not. At this point in time, maybe it will change when I get older, but due to stress factors and all that, this is my natural body shape.”
She has also voiced her irritation at being judged in this fashion, and revealed how she is getting sick of it. Chung as it turns out, has in the past deleted her photos from Instagram, after she was criticized by followers, for looking “unhealthy” in those pictures.
