This is a follow up to David's post on Lynx and Lamb Gaede, the pre-teen members of neo-Nazi folk band Prussian Blue. I had actually come across the story of these two mis-parented girls a while back, and became obsessed for a short while (a fascination akin to poking an open wound) with them and a (albeit at times poorly articulated) major detractor. Keep reading for an in depth interview with the girls and their mother by Louis Theroux.

Raising Hate

Lamb and Lynx are a pre-teen wannabe pop duo with a difference - they sieg-heil on stage and sing racist anthems. Their mother should be ashamed, but they're singing her tune

I first saw Lamb and Lynx at a skinhead rally in Southern California. For several weeks I had been pursuing a story about the white power movement, trying to get to know the most extreme white racists I could find. The idea was to spend time with them and maybe, though it sounds corny, be some kind of positive influence in their lives.

The skinhead rally was pretty much what you might imagine: 200 scary-looking men with shaved heads and swastika tattoos, sieg-heiling to punk-rock bands with names such as Brutal Attack and Extreme Hatred. Within minutes of arriving, I wanted to leave. I approached a few skinheads to see if they were interested in appearing in the television program I was making. "Why should I?" said one. "You'll just kike it up."

Then two blonde-haired and blue-eyed girls came on stage and sang folk versions of white power songs, occasionally doing Nazi salutes. The skinheads stood still and listened. When they finished their version of Road to Valhalla, a soppy ballad about white racists in the afterlife, the skinheads sieg-heiled appreciatively and some wiped tears away. One of the girls grinned and did a jig of pleasure.

After the performance I approached their mother, April, a rugged-looking woman in her thirties with straw-coloured hair. In those surroundings, she looked weirdly normal. I asked whether I could meet her and the girls at home. Without hesitating, she said yes.

The following week I drive up to a suburban bungalow in a central California farm town. The house has an immaculate garden - I later find out April works at a garden centre - and the only evidence of anything unusual is a row of skinhead-style boots, two small, and one big. Had I been more observant, I might have noticed the bumper sticker on the white pick-up truck parked in front: "My boss is an Austrian painter."

April, a healthy and outdoorsy-looking 37-year-old, answers the door wearing jeans and a black T-shirt with the word Resistance on it, the name of a skinhead record label. She introduces me to Lamb and Lynx. They are non-identical twins (Lamb is older) and they look for all the world like a pair of normal 11-year-old girls. April's fiance, Mark, is also a white racist, but he is a public-school teacher and many of his students are non-white; he is worried that he might lose his job if his beliefs become known, so he has declined to be part of the story.

It feels almost rude to ask April, "So - are you a Nazi?" And yet, that is basically what she is. She wants to live in an all-white homeland; she would like it to be illegal for whites and non-whites to marry or have relationships. She believes democracy has been a failure and she admires Adolf Hitler. She embraces the term "racist" and believes Jewish people, because they are devious and self-serving by nature, have finagled their way into positions of power and that they promote a multicultural agenda that will end up destroying the white race.

Lamb and Lynx's music is, for April, a way of promoting her racial ideas - a white racist alternative to mainstream pop music, which she views as Jewish propaganda. The band is named Prussian Blue. The girls read the name of the colour in a magazine - "and since their eyes are blue and my Dad's side of the family are Prussian Germans they thought it would be a good name for the group," April says. "Prussian Blue is also a compound that should be present in the residue left from Zyklon-B and which is not present - get this - not present at the so-called gas chambers in Auschwitz. It's kind of tongue in cheek."

you can be sure that the prussian twins will end up with with mixed babies,when they realise what a sad piece of white excrement their mother is.who can possibly have been on hard drugs and not have their brain affected?nazis attack because they feel defenseless against the world and have no control over their own lives. they are cowards.but the fear is rumours which are circulating about a multicultural force on the verge of breaking out commiting violent acts against such racist groups. an organised sect has been started in nottingham england,who are not anti white but anti racist with a brutal edge.they openly seek out racists and have already hospitalised several nazi members.

Those people are probably so ignorant about Adolf Hitler! People who act like must not understand what happened at all. April deserves to be put through what 6 MILLION jewish people went through. ARGH these people make me angry!
I used to draw swastickas when I was in grade 9. I thought it was 'cool'..Only because I had no idea what Adolf had done. Now I've educated myself about it. Ignorance may be bliss..but when it's something so controversial as this.. It's best to learn about it and stop trying to get attention and make a show. God, some people need lives ..GRrrr

Well, I dunno what to say...

Firstly, the girls can't be to blame for their beliefs, because they've been brain-washed since they were born by there mother.

Secondly, I've talked to a Jewish Holocaust surviver, and they told me everything they went through. This has gotta be proof that the Holocaust DID happen, and that it WAS as awful as people say.

Thirdly, we only hear OUR side of the story. We never get told exactly WHAT Adolf Hitler believed, or what was going through his head. His German followers loved him, and they were perfectly normal people like us, so who's to say he was "THAT BAD?" We can't be sure on any side of the story, although, propaganda had something to do with them not knowing the truth...

Anyway... hard situation, eh?

You're wrong. They can and should be held to account - eventually. Fanatics choose to be fanatical. We have an obligation to oppose and destroy them whatever their origins.
